A Journey Into Georgia’s Cultural Heritage

Located in the heart of Batumi, the Ethnographic Museum "Borjgalo" offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into Georgia’s rich rural traditions, crafts, and way of life. Founded by local artist and woodcarver Kemal Turmanidze, the museum is a true labor of love — a hand-built village showcasing traditional Adjarian houses, workshops, and everyday tools.

As you walk through the open-air space, you’ll discover how Georgians lived centuries ago — from agriculture and winemaking to textile production and blacksmithing. Each structure and artifact tells a story of craftsmanship, resilience, and identity.

      Highlights include:

      • Authentic replicas of traditional Adjarian homes
      • Hand-carved wooden tools and folk instruments
      • Live demonstrations of ancient crafts
      • Guided tours by the founder himself (subject to availability)

A visit to the Ethnographic Museum is more than a tour — it's an immersive experience that connects you with the soul of Georgia.
